“A Song for Mama” – Boyz II Men

As we lead up to Mother’s Day, I would like to say “thank you” to all of you who are mothers. This thank you to mothers includes grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, legal guardian mothers and even fathers who are doing it on their own.

I respect you and your values on parenting.

I appreciate your willingness to do what is necessary to keep your child/children healthy and well. Your sacrifice to be a mother is one that, at times, is indescribable.

I recognise you are more than a mother. You are the friend, the playmate, the chauffeur, the disciplinarian, the counsellor, the teacher, the chef, the cleaner, the hard worker….and much much more.

I acknowledge that it takes a lot of energy to be all of these people rolled into one and I appreciate what you do to keep the household running as smoothly as possible for you and your family.

You inspire me to be the best clinician I can be to assist you to help your child be the best little person they can be.

It warms my heart when your child actively asks to work with you on his/her therapy goals (particularly at the end of a busy therapy session). It tells me that you take the time to work with him/her to be ready for the next session. Thank you for your commitment and motivation.

I hope that if I am blessed to have children of my own, that I will be the best mother I can be.

Thank you all who are known as Mother/Mama/Mummy/Ma/Mum/Mom.
